About X-Remote

X-Remote is currently nothing more than a proof of concept application. It uses accelerometers in the iPhone or iPod touch to control aileron, elevator, and elevator deflections in X-Plane. Throttle and landing gear can be controlled from the iPhone or iPod and reflect the actual status of their settings in X-Plane. For example, if the throttle is changed from within X-Plane that change will be reflected on the iPhone or iPod. If the landing gear is raised or lowered by pressing "g" in X-Plane you will see the slider on your iPhone or iPod change accordingly.

Disclaimers:

  • Rudder deflection is based off the x-axis of the iPhone or iPod touch, the same axis aileron deflection is taken from.
  • X-Plane supports many different aileron, rudder, and elevator deflections. X-Remote only supports the most basic control surfaces.
  • At this time many aircraft are not supported through X-Remote.
